SOLVALLA – ELITLOPPET

New mobile-friendly website for the Nordic region’s premier arena and one of the world’s largest harness racing events

Solvalla is the largest arena for trotting racing (also known as trotting), in the Nordic region. Here, the Elitloppet is organized – one of the world’s largest harness racing events. The arena also offers events, exhibitions, and conferences. Solvalla is located in Bromma, Stockholm, and is operated by the non-profit association Stockholm Travsällskap.

CASE

Solvalla sought a supplier for the development, management, and support of a new external website, and the choice fell on Visionmate. The goal was to create the foremost digital experience in harness racing worldwide, which entailed high demands on design and user experience both on desktop and mobile. Ticket sales were a crucial part, requiring integrations with the Tickster ticketing system and SEO optimization of the website.

Additionally, Solvalla arena had a practical need to modernize its website and Content Management System to reduce unnecessary administration.

SOLUTION

At Visionmate, we undertook a restructuring of the solvalla.se website while simultaneously migrating the solution to the WordPress Content Management System. To reduce unnecessary administration, we also integrated elitloppet.se into the common CMS. We established all necessary connections to social media platforms where Solvalla interacts with its visitors and fans of the sport. We ensured that the solution is robust and can handle the pressure associated with the Elitloppet, especially concerning capacity during ticket sales peaks. Additionally, we implemented tools for technical search engine optimization, enabling Solvalla to measure and make well-informed decisions regarding strategies for its ticket sales.

THE RESULT

From now, Solvalla has the tools to measure and follow up on strategies regarding its ticket sales. Simultaneously, Solvalla acquired a modern, secure, and user-friendly platform that we believe is the most stylish in harness racing. It’s worth mentioning that the arena also hosts several other events, such as restaurants, museums, and opportunities to meet the animals.
